This roundtable discussion will cover 2-3 hand selected topics ranging from ethical culture to third party risk to predictive data, this intimate forum connects diverse organizations and offers an environment for trusted conversations on best practices.

Engage and hear presentations by members of the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA) sharing the strategy, tactics, results and lessons learned from the rollout of a recent program initiative.

Discussion Topics Include:

  • Matthew Bester, Director of Compliance Law, Accenture, and Sean Duffy, Competition Law Counsel, Accenture, will lead an interactive conversation around compliance issues associated with managing non-solicitation clauses. The discussion will include:

    • How companies compete for talent

    • Some history of enforcement in this area

      • The Silicon Valley cases that reinvigorated enforcement in this area

      • The 2016 DOJ Guidance

      • The DOJ announcement that some non-solicit cases will be prosecuted criminal

    • The current non-poach enforcement actions and private litigation

      How should companies manage compliance with changing enforcement priorities such as this?

  • Ethisphere will share trends and best practices from the recently released Volume 1 of the 2019 World’s Most Ethical Companies data-set; and facilitate an open discussion among the participants during lunch

  • Alexina Jackson, Managing Director & Associate General Counsel, Ethics & Compliance, The AES Corporation, will lead a discussion on anti-corruption risk assessment best practices, including entity-wide assessments, location-specific assessments, thematic assessments, self-assessments, and others that may be raised by participants. The goal of the discussion will be to map the strengths, weaknesses, and relative costs of each approach so participants can leave with a menu of risk assessment best practices from which they might refresh or enhance their compliance programs.
